BAIONA
Baiona centre is approximately 1.5 km from Sabaris. From the hotel door to te entrance of the Parador is 3.1Km. as measured on Google.
There is a charming coastal promenade which will take you to the heart of Baiona, or in the other direction to Ramallosa, Playa America and Panjon.
In and around Baiona you will discover more than 3km of beaches to enjoy the sunshine and all the activities that the sea has to offer.
Only 600 meters from the Arce is Playa Ladeira, the longest beach in Baiona.
1.5 km the other way is Playa America and Playa de Panjon.
Baiona itself is full of history.
The ‘casco viejo' (old town) with its restored houses, the ‘ayuntamiento' (council offices), the ‘Plaza' (square) and of course many traditional ‘Tapas' bars.
You can also visit a replica of the ‘Carabela La Pinta', which was the first ship to bring the news of the New Americas to Europe; nowadays the ship is a maritime museum which is well worth a visit.
You can take in the breathtaking scenery by following a pathway around the Parador, or just sit at one of the many terraces and enjoy the view.
In our own village of Sabaris, literally outside our door, we have Él Mercadillo´, which is held every Monday. This is a street market where you will find everything from fresh fruit and vegetables, traditional hams, bread and meats, to clothes and gifts for your home.
Close by is also Ramallosa which has a Shopping Centre with two cinemas and even a nightclub. A little further a field is Vigo with plenty to see and do.
